"Me? In an antique store? This could be dangerous." said I, as we walked into the basement of a historic building in a historic part of a small town not to far away. Full of the often-seen treasures of dishes, tea cups, farm tools, crocks, knick-knacks, books, and furniture, this basement was loaded with things to look at. That is, if you like things from the past.
It wasn't until I was on the main floor of this shop, waiting for Grandma to finish checking out at the register, that I decided to quickly take a peek upstairs which contained more antique/flea market type stuff. My eye caught this pretty looking book that had a familiar name gracing the front cover.
Though I've never read any of George MacDonalds books, it seems like my literary friends have brought up this name on numerous occasions. After scanning the 1898 book, and justifying the $2.50 price tag, I decided to add another fictional book to my vintage book collection.
A piping hot cup of tea sounds perfect right about now. Would anyone care to join me? =)
