Anne's Blue Linen Skirt

For years I have dreamed of making a skirt like Anne's that she wears to Fred's Clam Bake and when Gil proposes to her...

Delighted to see that linen is 50% off at JoAnn's this week, I picked up a lovely shade of sky blue linen to make one. I'll probably make it along the lines of this one, only floor length (like Anne's of course!). Now if I could only find some gorgeous lace fabric and make myself a shirtwaist too...

I LOVE this outfit of Anne's! It is one of my favorites. Can't wait to see the skirt! Linen was 50% off at Hancocks here last week but we only got some white - now I wish I had picked up some blue as well!

I think this skirt is very nice from the movie. I remembered that she looked quite comfortable in it.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product :)

Ah, one of my favourite movies for costumes! I adore all of Anne's clothes, but I've always been particularly fond of this one for its simplicity and it sweet blue shades.

Thanks to you all for your cheery comments! It is all finished now (I was on a roll in the sewing room yesterday afternoon!) and I'll wait though to share pictures when it is all green outside. It shouldn't be long now...
